Galvanized Yankees on the Upper Missouri: The Face… door Michele Tucker Butts
Much more recent then Dee Brown's book Galvanized Yankees, Butts concentrates on the 1st USV from their inspection through their mustering out, and a little beyond. The 1st was the most well documented of the six USV regiments and also the only one that wasn't spread piecemeal throughout the West. A good follow up to Brown's book, she more closely examines the reasons the Confederate POWs went over to the other side. This is also the only other book written about the Galvanized Yankees.
