Over mijn bibliotheek
I truly don't have any clue as to how many books I actually own. I have them literally in every room of my house and constantly continue to add more.

I don't normally read romance of any kind, self-help, or chick-lit; rarely are there trendy or young adult novels on my shelf. Mass-market, over-hyped popular fiction and reading what's hot today -- none of these appeal. I absolutely love good nonfiction -- history and biographies. Love European crime fiction and novels in translation, as well as quality dark fiction including horror and pulp, mostly from the past, and love reading works published by small presses. Not into violence, gore, or splatterfests -- I love writers who can write.
Over mij
Hi! I'm really Nancy, and I am one of those people who would rather read than eat. I devour books and have no problem working my reading schedule around my busy life, even if it means staying up into the wee hours to read.

My other interests revolve around my family life, freecycling, and trying to put my social conscience to work whenever I can. I think mean people suck.

The picture is "Hello Cthulhu," a mix of Cthulhu meets Hello Kitty. This is how my warped brain works.

I'm a reader, not a writer, English major or professional critic. My ideas are my own, for better or worse, and I often find myself swimming against the tide of public opinion. I don't consider that a negative -- I am one of those readers Thomas Ligotti refers to as preferring "literature's outsiders." In short, I do my own thing not according to book fashion de jour.

Feel absolutely free to contact me about anything and drop in and visit my online reading journal!
