Over mijn bibliotheek
During my lifetime I have acquired (and disposed of) several book collections. As a theatre person I gathered a major collection (about 4000 volumes) of titles pertaining to theatre biography, history, and production style. On retirement I gave this collection to the universiity library. Since then I have collected very haphazardly, using whim and immediate interest as a guide. Many titles are acquired to help with my writing (fiction) research. I am an avid reader of period mystery stories, alternate history science fiction, and social history. My rating system is entirely personal based on usefulness for my work, entertainment value, and my estimation of the book's success in meeting its own goals. First editions, signed copies, and rare books are no longer of primary interest. My library is very much a working and enjoyment library, about 900 volumes total, and growing.
