Over mijzelfAvid reader, mother of young twins.

I like books about: philosophy, science, psychology, linguistics, buddhism, and cooking, and combinations (philosophical cooking??). And I don't mind some original (childrens) fiction either.

Over mijn boekenThe books tagged bookmooch me can probably still be mooched at my bookmooch adress, if my tags are up to date. They all have a tag with the language they're in, too. via bookmooch means I got them through bookmooch.

De boeken met de tag bookmooch me zijn in principe via bookmooch te ruilen, als mijn tags nog kloppen.

I would like the Funke books! Would it be affordable for you if you sent them to an address in Germany? I have relatives there who can bring them over on their next visit.
Hi Esther

I have received Touching From a Distance and listed it as an angel book reserved for you. I will send this straight away as the owner of Optical Illusions still hasn't logged in to bookmooch.

Heather
wester- I have received Real Vegetarian Thai that I am angeling for you. I have posted it to my inventory (turtlegirl on BM) as Angel Book #11 reserved for you.

Kristin
Hi,
I received the book What We Eat When We Eat Alone that I angeled for you about two weeks ago and completely forgot to let you know! I am so sorry. I have listed it in my bookmooch inventory as Angel Book #7. Once again sorry for the delay.
Sam
You are very welcome Esther, and yes, please let me know if you need anything from me regarding this, or other mooches.

Have a great day,
Michelle
Hi Esther,
The book owner of the Tai Chi book is back off vacation. I thought you might want to request it again from another Angel, just in case the book owner had something again me, or the place that I live in. Good luck and I hope it works out for you.

Take care,
Michelle
Yep, they're vacationed already - I had requested three other titles from them and cencelled those at the two week mark, so voila. Wanted to check with you about the last one, though. Hope they'll stay on vacation, and not annoy you through your wishlist :)

Hope I can help out another time.

Take care,
Michelle
Hi Esther,
Still no response from the owner of the Essence of Tai Chi Chuan. It has now been over 2 weeks since I requested it for you. Is it okay with you if I go ahead and cancel the mooch now?

Sorry it didn't work out this time.

Michelle
Hi Esther,
Unfortunately, the owner of The Essence of Tai Chi Chuan has not accepted the mooch yet. It was one week on the 20th, and I sent a reminder, but still have not heard. I'll update you after another week has passed.

Keep your fingers crossed :)
Michelle
Wester- I have received The Taoist Body that I am angeling for you. It is in my inventory (turtlegirl on BM) as Angel Book #4 reserved for you.

Kristin
You're very welcome, Esther - no acceptance yet, but we'll keep our fingers crossed :)
Michelle
Hi Esther

Re The Optical Illusions book, the owner has changed the reservation to me and I have mooched it for you. There were no condition notes - is that ok? I'll let you know when he accepts and sends it. Thanks so much for my smooch also! :-)

Heather
Hello again, I have still not heard anything from the moocher so I have cancelled those two cookbook mooches. I am sorry things didn't work out.
Sure, once Bookmooch decides to pay attention to me. :)
Forever Today has been reserved for you, it will probably be a week before I post it, i've already done my batch for this fortnight.
Sorry, it's gone. If it's heavily wishlisted like that, you may want to post in the Angel thread just in case. :/
Hi Esther,
Well, I got sick of waiting for your 'angel' request Trattoria so I sent a query today, the result being she says she will post it at the end of this week! I hope you remembered you had asked for it. LOL!
If she does, it should arrive next week - and then I can send you the link. I know you were happy to wait but it has been long enough, so I am glad I nudged a bit.
Just wanted to give an update... :)
~Lyn
Mooched the Balance book! I do like mandalas. :)
Your Alton Brown -brick- book arrived and has been set aside for you. Poke me when you're back and I'll list it for you; I don't see any need to taunt wishlisters for a week.
Piffle. I read all 4 as a kid, and it didn't hurt me any. :)
In process of grabbing the 3. He probably wants the prequel too:

When the Tripods Came:

Same guy has a bunch of John Christopher books, so you may want to poke husband in general.
Certainly. I try to check which books haven't been mooched from my bio widget anyhow, but I'll just extend the time a bunch to give you leeway. :)
Oh... well... there's always more boxes. :D http://www.usps.com/prices/priority-mail-international-prices.htm

When 4 pounds is $30, I might as well stuff a box with 6-8 ($42) or 12-15 ($54) pounds.

Note: I'm not the fastest intl shipper, as visible from my pending, but I do send them. I also don' wanna mooch from smoking homes. *picky*
Will do. Are you interested in throwing a few more chunky book requests my way?

Then I'll make a nice heavy brick-box (flat-rate priority) for you.
Hoi wester,
Dank voor je felicitatie (daar zat je dicht op!)
Esther
I mooched the Perception book for you, since it was relisted. :)
Hi,
I mooched the Elizabeth David cookery book for you and got completely caught up in real life and forgot to actually mention that I had done this. I'm really sorry, I'm having a somewhat busy week! The owner hasnt got back to me to accept the mooch yet, I'll keep you updated-if you still want the book of course!

Sorry again,
Sarah

Hi Esther,

Noticed that you recently added Antonio Damasco's The Feeling of What Happens to your library. Let me know what you think of it once you get around to reading it. I share an interest in studies pertaining to consciousness and his book seems to have garnered a lot of interest. I've added the book to my Mooch wishlist but am not holding my breath with this new reserve system...Take care, Eva.
Hej westher,

Indrukwekkende bibliotheek trouwens:-)

Thx for searching me out, Ester. Love the notion of "philosophical cooking." LOL
Hi this was the short review I did. But additional colour is that... the story starts in the sixties with the birth of twins one of which has downs syndrome. The story sets up the motives why the father gives the child away(loss of his own sister and wanted to spare his wife the pain, why he gives it to the nurse(knows she loves him), why the nurse accepts the child and refuses to put her in a home(loves him, and the baby and what this means to her) This sets up the train of events that affect the both families for the next 30 years as the lies and evasions create distance and emotional loss. WE also see the families affected by the social changes and the growth in disability rights.

Well fought not to read it because it going to be some variation of chicklit BUT was hooked in and turned the pages gripped by the unfolding tragedy of the one innocent mistake. The writing was clever in the way it evoked the physical environment and time of the period as well as switching point of view from each of the main characters as the story moves to its climax. A key thing that makes the story works is that we understand why the main characters make the decisions they do. It also gives you a pain free overview of the changes in attitudes to learning difficulties from the mid 60's and now. Highly recommended.
Hi I see you are a fellow BookMoocher! I will have to check out you library here, and your inventory there, I try to add all my fellow moochers to my friends list so I can find them easily. Thank you for finding me! Mary
Inderdaad, alleen was mijn 'motivatie' nog wat sterker, want ik heet niet alleen Esther W. maar zelfs Esther Westerveld ;-) Kon eigenlijk niet missen dus.
