Hello, I don't mean to annoy anyone unduly, but I have a question regarding the usage of 'blanket' authors when working on the Legacy Libraries project. By 'blanket' I mean anon, multiple, several, n/a, etc.
I believe that those blanket authors should never be used. That's my opinion.
I do see Legacy Libraries that use them and I'm wondering if there is a reason for it that I am missing.
When is it 'Good' to use 'blanket' authors?
Can you give me a for-instance? I can't say that I've seen this.
Collectorator's sent me a few examples of this, and I think it's fair to say that where there is not an author of the book, or it's written anonymously, &c., there shouldn't be anything in the author field. In the case of multiple authors, there should be a main author (use a library record to find this) and then the others can be added in the "Other Authors" field.
If anyone has questions about this, just ask!
