Beschrijving:
The Bethel Public Library was founded in 1909 with a bequest of $2,000 and some books from Maria Parloa, a prominent Bethel citizen. It was located in a couple of rooms above a local store and was open 8 hours per week. Today, for little more than one penny of each tax dollar paid by Bethel citizens, the library offers over 85 different services and is open 58 hours per week. Approximately 60% of the town’s eligible residents have and use their library cards on a regular basis.

The Bethel library holds over 95,000 volumes and has access to the Interlibrary Loan network, iConn, and reQuest, allowing patrons to obtain almost any items they want. Besides offering many types of media, the library holds various programs for children, teens, and adults, as well as being a community gathering place.

Hours:
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 10:00 am - 8:00 pm
Tuesday, Friday, Saturday: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Sunday: 1:00 - 5:00 pm (closed Sundays mid-June through mid-September)
