Deze bespreking was geschreven voorLibraryThing lid Weggevers. This book is a page-turner and a fast read. The story is fascinating and very edge of your seat exciting. I discovered a new author in Joel Fox, and I hope he writes another book with the same protagonist. Deze bespreking was geschreven voorLibraryThing lid Weggevers. This is a Zane Rigby mystery with Zane as an older FBI agent trying to hold on to his job until retirement. In this story, set in Springfield, Illinois, Zane encounters his college sweetheart, only to lose her a second time. The story brings up many interesting facts about the burial of Abraham Lincoln, and the housing of brain fragments as DNA samples. I never realized that poor Lincoln was exhumed and reburied, and many attempts have been made to steal the body. This is an easy read, and does not delve into the psychology of the crime as an Elizabeth George novel. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
Unable to close his previous case against the Monument Bomber, Senior FBI Special Agent Zane Rigby has been re-assigned to uncover a secret. Is Abraham Lincoln's body in his grave? When DNA from a hand found with a blackmail note traced back to 1901 matches the DNA from bone taken at Lincoln's autopsy, Rigby is shuffled off to Springfield, Illinois where all manner of obstacles threaten his success. He discovers a local congressman hiding a dreaded secret, a strange doctor who claims he can perform medical miracles, and his own ill-timed urge to rekindle a relationship with his college sweetheart. And then there is the dead body of a young woman found near Lincoln's Tomb. As the Monument Bomber threatens to strike again, Rigby searches for redemption in solving the murder and discovering the secret buried in Lincoln's Tomb. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
