Politically powerful lobbyist groups such as Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood and Focus on the Family have controlled the release, and even the content, of certain Bibles, while producing and promoting their own Bible versions. They claim that certain Bible versions that translate gender accurately have neutralized masculine gender in an attempt to be politically correct. Yet such masculine gender did not in fact appear in the original languages of Scripture, only in the traditional English translations of the last few centuries. The lobbyists promote the view that women are by nature subordinate to men. Such groups rely upon misinformation about basic grammatical principles as well as upon mistranslation of common Greek words. More Than Meets the Eye is a must for every minister, and for every person interested in the facts about gender translation in Bibles. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
