Naomi really wants to be a small town doctor, but she lacks a bit of the bedside manner which locals are accustomed. Rig comes back to town and buys into her practice. ( ) Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. I really enjoyed this book. I think my favorite part is that it led me to a whole new series to read. I really enjoy getting into characters and visiting them often. I am not a knitter but I do love this series. Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. From the book synopsis: "It has always been Naomi Fontaine’s dream to practice small-town medicine—an ambition that brought her to Cypress Hollow, the charming, tight-knit community her late friend, knitting guru Eliza Carpenter, loved so well. But no matter how hard she tries, Naomi can’t seem to fit in here. Then rugged Rig Keller moves in to take over half of Naomi’s medical practice, and instantly charms everyone in town . . . including Naomi. Rig saw what a broken relationship did to his brother, and has no interest whatsoever in getting serious. But the temptation to play doctor with his new partner is just too strong to resist. Any chance they might have of being truly knit together by love, however, depends entirely on what secrets they are willing to reveal . . . and on Rig’s willingness to risk his heart and Naomi’s desire to open hers completely." I received an Uncorrected Proof of this book through the LibraryThing Early Reviewer program. As a knitter, I was mighty glad to have been chosen to receive it. Though I am familiar with Rachael Herron's other two books from this series, I had never gotten the opportunity to read them as yet. My initial thoughts was that it was going to be similar to Debbie Macomber's "Blossom Street series" or Kate Jacob's "Friday Night Knitting Club series". Boy was I mistaken! "Wishes and Stitches" read more like a Harlequin romance novel with knitting thrown in. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. I loved this book and I have to say that Ms. Herron writes a good story and creates some really believable characters. I could really relate to Naomi's ackwardness in social situations. Been there, done that, have the T-shirt to prove it. I've never been one to make friends easily, so I could sympathize with her. The characters were well-rounded and very likeable. I'm really looking forward to getting the first two books of the series at my local library. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

"Practicing medicine in a small town like Cypress Hollow has always been Naomi Fontaine's dream, but she's had a hard time becoming part of the community her late friend, knitting-guru Eliza Carpenter, raved about. Naomi just doesn't fit in, no matter how hard she tries. When rugged Rig Keller moves to town to take over half of Naomi's medical practice, he charms the townspeople effortlessly--and catches Naomi's eye, too. After watching his brother's heartbreak at losing his wife, Rig's not interested in anything serious, but finds playing doctor with his new partner impossible to resist. Naomi, confused by how much she feels for Rig, wants to hide their relationship away. But keeping secrets is a dangerous game, and revealing hidden truths can lead to heartbreak. Rig must decide whether to risk his heart, and Naomi whether to open hers completely, before the two of them can be knit together by love"-- Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
