Personal Reaction: This book is full of information about people who live in or visit the mountains. I liked the anecdotal information that accompanied pictures on just about every page. It also had a glossary that would be helpful for students reading the book.
Extension Ideas: This would be a great book to use when studying how life is different in different regions of the country and world. Student could write about any experiences that they have had visiting mountains, or what they might like to do if they had the chance. They could also identify a mountain range they would like to visit and report on the lives of the people living near there. (
