Honor Macklin has no idea the Belleview Biltmore Resort is haunted when she decides to stay there while settling her mother's estate in Belleair, Florida. But the Victorian spirits who are invading her dreams to share memories from the life of a young, troubled Victorian woman aren't her only problem. Although he was only supposed to be a vacation fling, she has fallen hard for Josh Lancing, a single dad with a clairvoyant, four-year-old son. Also, her mother's spirit could be haunting the old family home Honor is preparing to put on the market. And now she's learned her conniving ex-husband/business partner is plotting a coup in her absence. She's running out of time. If she doesn't figure out some answers soon, she stands to lose everything from her livelihood to a chance at true love. The setting for this novel is the famous and currently endangered historic Belleview Biltmore Resort in Belleair, FL. The hotel was built in 1896 by one of Florida's founding fathers, Henry B. Plant. The author is working with preservationists, hoping to find investors willing to save the wonderful, 820,000 sq. ft. hotel from demolition. What a prefect book to read for the Halloween season. If you are looking for a book that has paranormal without being scary then check out this book. The author picked a wonderful location to write a beautiful story. I started reading this book Wednesday around 1pm I finished this book a little after 3pm. Granted, I admit that I am a fast reader. However, this book just captures the reader and never let's go. Always something keeps the reader's attention. With the romance and the paranormal mystery wrapped up in this book classifies it as a winner for me.

Thanks for an amazing and very interesting read BonSue.

The bunnies and I give this book 4 carrots. ( )

Paranormal mystery and romance combine to create a spectacular reading experience. The delightful description of the Belleview Biltmore hotel makes it come alive on the page and brings the mystery and intrigue surrounding the hotel to the forefront of the reader’s mind. Brandvik’s portrayal of Honor as a strong, independent, confident woman, adding an unexpected element to the mystery of the ghosts from the past, creating a perfect contrast to the character of Darcy Loughman. While Josh acts as a steady rock for Honor it is really his son that brings the excitement back into the story and helps move the plot along by his witty antics and bewildering exclamations.

I was provided a copy of the book by BTS eMag for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review – all conclusions are my own responsibility. ( )

Thoroughly enjoyed reading Pearls and am eagerly awaiting the release of the second book. Reminded me of how much fun it was to read Hawaii when we lived there. The names of familiar places really enhance the story. I hope all of you working for the preservation of the Biltmore are successful. Again, good book, fun read. ( )
