This is a must-have resources on copyright issues for educators and librarians. It boils down the complexities of copyright law so that even I can almost understand it. There are many helpful resources, such as forms, in the book. ( ) Take a look at your professional shelves. You probably already have several books about copyright on them and perhaps even an older edition of this title. Crews knows the latest laws on copyright and updates those in this volume, but also does what others have not and that is cover fair use extensively. His objective is to address not only librarians but educators as they watch students create all types of projects using whatever they find. So, as a part of our efforts to teach digital citizenship, we need to help young people curate, use, and create all types of work based on the shoulders of folks out there but also in ways to express their own ideas and creative products. So, I would recommend purchase of this book depending on your knowledge about the rules of fair use. We all understand plagiarism and we all understand referencing of the original work, but there is a whole new arena of Creative Commons licensing and myriad other ways folks have of distributing their content and how that can be used to build upon in education. This book is a sound treatise on fair use, so worthy of a read to brush up one’s skill. It is an easy read so can serve as a personal quick professional development private tutoring session. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
