Since it goes against my nature to review a book with just one word, I will elaborate briefly. The story is a simplified origin story for Spiderman, or at least one of the many variants circulating in comics, movies, and cartoons (I didn't care enough to verify which one). While the book uses basic sentences appropriate for younger readers, the story is bland and not well adapted from the graphic format. Also, it alludes to the more horrible aspects of the story (his Uncle Ben's death) but doesn't fully commit. Either explain it clearly, or leave it out altogether. Much like the text, the pictures are adequate but don't stand out in any way. Despite these serious flaws, my girls enjoy reading it, simply for the character. Ah well. They'll get older and learn.
