Having the song 'Imagine' turned into a piece of literature with such beautiful pictures created a great experience when reading this book with my 4 year old! The pictures flowed beautifully with the text. The illustrations were also very engaging. ( ) One of my absolute favourite songs, and one of the best Lennon songs ever. That being said, this wasn't quite as successful as I expected. In truth, I could write a review, but Maggie perfectly encapsulates what I'd want to see. Read her excellent review here. In this short picture book, the story is the lyrics to the song "Imagine" by John Lennon. The illustrations display the lyrics as a pigeon playing out each line. These words are broken down into each page showing how the world would be if there was more peace and love between people. I think this is a lovely book for children to be read to, giving them a perspective of absolute peace. "Imagine" took the words of John Lennon's famous song and with the work of the French artist Jean Jullien created a beautiful picture book, which can speak to all ages. In the wake of the Nov. 2015 terrorist attacks in Paris Jean Jullien created a variation of the Peace symbol invoking the Eiffel Tower. His work has appeared in many famous publications, including the "New York Times" and "The Guardian." Source: Wikipedia.com. This book was published with Amnesty International. Yoko Ono Lennon's foreword is well worth reading, as is the afterword provided by Amnesty International. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
