Imagination runs wild in this story of one girls "ordinary day" as Amanda rides to school with a t-rex, has a fly for a teacher, and a lion as a pet. This story encourages imagination which I enjoy, and the illustrations in this book bring Amanda's imagination to life. Her day doesn't actually involve all of the crazy things in the book; however, her creativity and imagination makes her ordinary day, extraordinary. Young students would enjoy this book, and I feel by reading this to students their imaginations would be able to be displayed. Overall, a very engaging and entertaining read. ( )

I understand from the other reviews that kids love this. And it is funny to see the dinosaur in a dress, giant fly as a chemistry teacher, etc., but somehow all I feel is envious. Normally I'm not the kind of person to wish I had what others do, and to be honest I couldn't survive Amanda's day. But I could see no other point of this book except to tell us how boring our own lives are. Sorry. ( )

An Ordinary day for Amanda is not ordinary at all. For Amanda she does her usual routine she wakes up for school, eats breakfast, goes to her classes, and does a lot more. In reality it's not ordinary at all. She is woken up by a gong, gets picked up by her neighbor who's a T-Rex, the new student in school is a alien, and her pet is a lion. Amanda's life is anything but ordinary because her life is extraordinary. You will learn a lot of differentt things A manda does that to her is normal. ( )

Amanda takes your through her daily routine which is filled with magical creatures. This is a good book to read to elementary students because they can relate to the daily routine and could make up their own magical daily routine. ( )

The story is of an ordinary day going to school but the pictures tell another story so your imagination gets to fly with the silliness. ( )
