Endlich, die Geschichte zu Nathan.
Ich weiss noch, wie ich Nathan kennengelernt habe, als Corinne und Hunter den jugendlichen Gen-Eins aus den Fängen von Dragos befreit haben. Es war schön zu lesen, dass er sich von einem Jäger aus Dragos' Privatarmee, zu einem angesehenen Ordenskrieger entwickelt hat.
Doch ist es mal wieder unglaublich, wie [a:Lara Adrian|375626|Lara Adrian|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1490013860p2/375626.jpg] es geschafft hat, dass das komplette Storyboard von Midnight Breed sich so rasend ändert. Und nur ganz allein durch das Auftauchen von einer Frau, Jordana Gates.
Wenn ich gedacht hatte, dass dieser Band der Midnight Breed-Reihe sanft dahin schlummert, dann hatte ich mich ganz gewaltig geirrt.
Aber ich möchte hier auch nicht zuviel vorwegnehmen. Eins ist gewiss, lesen sollte man diesen Band in jedem Fall. ( )

Crave the Night continues the reboot of the series with the focus shifting to the second generation of Breed warriors. In the aftermath of the thwarted attack against the peace summit, the Order searches for information on their newest enemy, the Atlanteans. Squad leader, Nathan (son of Corinne in book #9) finds himself in an unthinkable position as his attraction to beautiful yet innocent Jordana Gates threatens his ability to concentrate on his mission.

This installment hits all of the marks that the previous book fizzled on. In addition to the compelling developments in the story arc with its surprising twists and turns, Jordana and Nathan's forbidden romance has all of the chemistry and intensity missing from Mira and Kellen's story.

The traumas of his past have turned Nathan into a cold and emotionless warrior determined to keep his distance from a woman he perceives as delicate and unattainable. But beneath Jordana's seemingly fragile facade lies a woman with a core of solid steel who is more than a match for Nathan's stoicism. There interactions of sizzling hot and their emotional intimacy is reminiscent of the pairings from some of the earlier books.

Details are also provided on several secondary characters, including the enigmatic cage fighter, Rune, and his feisty lover, Carys, whose romance is far from acceptable to her twin. It will be interesting to see where Adrian takes this in the next book - should be exciting to say the least.

As with all of the Midnight Breed novels, there's action galore, romance and sex, sometimes course language used. The stories are fantastic, keeping my attention and I barely get anything done until after reading the last page...Crave the Night is no different.

The characters are always well drawn, giving a complete background, letting the reader know why they are the way they are now. Each book has an ending, a HEA that leaves the reader satisfied...and ready for the next one.

If you hot bad boy vampires and heroines who can keep up with them, even taming them, this book, and the entire series, is for you. The Midnight Breed series is for those 18 ...violence, adult themes, hot sex, questionable language. ( )

I just finished my ReRead 2/24/21 and enjoyed it more than my 1st read.

The action and suspense could have been more intense. The search for Cassian Gray and any leads on Opus Nostrum seemed to lack urgency. There are some exciting scenes in the suspense, but they could have been more convincing.
The interactions between Nathan and Jordana are fierce. You can feel their attraction to each other vibrate off the pages. Their romantic encounters are spicy, sensual and very erotic. Jordana's true identity is a nice twist.
The writing is smooth and flows well and I did enjoy it. ( )

I read this series a long time ago and keep up with the books as they come out because I really enjoy the story and the characters. I used to not be able to get enough of this series. That being said…
I have to say I was let down by this book. I think it may be that I’m not a big fan of following the children of the Midnight Breed characters. Maybe this should have been a spinoff series. But mostly, I think I just could not get into the characters of Nathan and Jordana. They pale in comparison to the characters in the previous Midnight Breed books. What was so fascinating about the previous generation was that they were centuries old, they struggled and had to hide from the human world which gave them insight and made them powerful. Their children are less than 30 years old so they don’t have the experience and have lived pampered lives compared to their parents.
Nathan is a Gen One Vampire who was raised to be a killer or Hunter until his mother and step-father rescued him when he was 13. He is the leader of his squad and runs it efficiently and expects everyone to follow orders and do their job.
To me, he seemed to have no control of his crew because when they are in the club on a mission, Aric loses control and throws a tantrum. Nathan does nothing to punish him or get him under control. Aric seems to throws tantrums a lot over his twin sister, Carys’s choice of boyfriend. He just blows his duty off because of his lack of control yet Nathan does nothing about it.
What also makes me question Nathan’s character is that he likes to pay for sex in a BDSM club. I get that his character is supposed to be aloof and wants to keep distant from women but BDSM is all about trusting your partner. I don’t get how it is okay for a male character to be a slut. It grosses me out.
Jordana is a privileged society girl who grew up with money and is promised to a man who she really is not in love with just to please her father. She seems to not have any backbone. She works in a museum and has a good education. She is nice enough but nice isn’t enough for me to like someone. I need someone who stands up for themselves or has a better reason not to stand up for herself than daddy getting mad.
Nathan and Jordana meet, have some lame excuses why they can’t be together but can’t stop lusting after each other. Nathan can’t even seem to do his job because he is thinking with his dick so much. Jordana can do her job at least.
I did enjoy the rest of the story. I like the story of the Atlanteans or however you spell it. I hope the next book is better than this one. I don’t know if I can stomach another book if the characters are ..boy…me macho and girl..I’m an innocent virgin, good and pure and here to serve my man as long as he gives me an awesome orgasm.
