William, and Catherine Booth successfully raised eight children, all of whom grew up to be active ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In this book, William provides a blueprint for raising godly children in an ungodly world. Since the book was written in 1884, no doubt, some of his suggestions seem "legalistic" and archaic in the moral and cultural relativism of the 21st century, but the truths that he teaches, and the clarity that he brings to the task set before all Christian parents, makes this book a must read for all parents who want their children to grow up as followers of Jesus Christ. There have been some minor corrections in spelling, formatting, and verb usage in this version, but otherwise the book is a reproduction of William Booth's original work, in an easy to read format.
