Fiction. Literature. Romance. You know how sometimes, your high school crush grows up to be an insanely famous movie star? Okay, probably not. But I do. Back in high school, Trip Wiley's fanbase only encompassed the denizens of the nothing little suburb of Norman, New Jersey. Ten years later, all that is about to change. In the summer of 2000, Layla Warren is enjoying her career as a journalist in New York City (well, sort of), while Trip spends most of his time grabbing Hollywood by the balls. In the days before what will turn out to be his skyrocketing fame, they'll find themselves confronted with some life-altering choices.… (meer)

It’s been nine years since Layla left for college in New York, nine years since she’s seen Trip Wilmington. Well, she’s seen him since then, as Trip Wiley, on TV and in movies because he’s a Hollywood up-and-coming actor now.

Layla is twenty-six and working as a copy editor at a news magazine similar to Parade. She’s not happy where she is with her career, but has hopes of moving up to a reporter position. Unfortunately, it seems her boss, Devin, has other ideas. Layla has asked repeatedly to do a story as a reporter for the magazine, but he turns her down every time she asks.

When Layla hears that Trip is in New York filming another movie, she asks Devin to let her interview him. At first, Devin plans to give the story to an already established reporter, but Layla pleads her case, arguing that she’d be able to do a better job because she knew him in high school. Devin relents, and Layla gets the job.

As soon as she and Trip meet again, it’s clear they have not lost their chemistry and feelings for each other. This is a problem though, because Layla is currently engaged to someone else, and through the interview with Trip, she finds out he is engaged to no less than a Victoria’s Secret model.

What follows is a reunion between the two where they fight against their natural feelings for each other. Can they just be friends, or is the attraction and chemistry between them too much for them to handle?

I loved this sequel! It was painful to watch Layla and Trip fight against the relationship they are meant to have together, but it was also nice to see the friendship between them grow. I laughed with them in places and cried with frustration as they fought against what was meant to be. Layla tried her best to respect her fiancé and restrain herself with Trip, but of course, the reader knows she is making a mistake in doing that. I wish I could say more, but I don’t want to put too many spoilers in here.

Remember When, the first book, was very good, but I liked the sequel even better. It was so clear that Layla and Trip are really meant to be together after reading this book. They understand each other as no one else does. While most high-school romances don’t work for the long haul, there are exceptions. Obviously the relationship between Trip and Layla is one of those exceptions.

Unfortunately though, this couple has more misunderstandings than any other couple I’ve ever met, so by the end of the book, there is still more work to be done to get things right. The end was really frustrating, as it ends in a cliffhanger, but fortunately, the third and final Remember When book was released earlier this month. So, go get this trilogy with no fear! Just be prepared to read all three in a row, because the first one sucks you in and it’s hopeless to escape after that. Go get these books! A review of the third book will be coming soon, as I’m already half-way finished with it. Highly recommended.

This book picks up 10 years after the end of the first. Trip is a fast-rising movie star. Layla is a journalist. They've lost touch, but she jumps at the opportunity to interview him, bringing them back into each others' lives. This is a fast-paced book with lots of emotions. Be warned: you will want to start book 3 immediately! :) ( )
