The main character was so wishy washy then completely horrible I just couldn't finish. No rating. There was not one “Carnal Secret” among them. There were plenty of secrets, but they were in no way “carnal”. So, here’s the thing. I’ll read them all I’m sure, because I truly like the characters. But, they are SO similar, that it feels almost like the same book. The overall background plot is different in each, but the relationships and interactions (which, let’s face it, takes center stage in a PNR) are SO similar. The sex scenes in particular I’ve taken to skimming and just reading the dialogue. I’m confused by the fascination with anal. So far I’ve read three, and they’re all obsessed with the butthole. Also, I find it interesting (and a little odd) that out of the three books I’ve read, all three women keep their Lady Garden bald as a newborn babe, and their guys completely dig it. What are the odds? Three couples, all bald, all liking the bald? Is this a thing? Maybe I’m too old... In short: Great characters Not great editing, but not terrible Decent overall background plot Amusingly snarky in parts BUT, Agonizingly samey Weird obsession with the butt and the bald I enjoyed Nick and Shaya's story. Both are damaged wolves and both have to overcome emotional issues. Initially they take turns causing harm to each other but in the end they do have a happily ever after. This book does favor the romantic drama but there is drama of other sorts such as jealousy, wars, decipt, and injustice. Highly recommend this book and the series. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
Onderdeel van de reeks(en)Phoenix Pack (3)
Half-shifter Shaya Critchley may hold a submissive role in her pack, but she's done taking orders. After her Alpha wolf mate refused to claim her--but committed to interfering in her life--she took off. Now she hides from him, posing as a human in a town full of anti-shifter extremist groups. She thinks he'll never find her again, and that suits her just fine. But she's wrong. Nick Axton can barely control his feelings for Shaya, but he could never claim her--not if he truly cares for her. The degenerative brain condition he keeps secret would ultimately leave her with a burden rather than a mate. But when Shaya runs away, Nick can't bear the thought of never seeing her again. After tracking her down, he discovers Shaya's feisty and passionate side in the process...a side he'd never seen before. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
