This is the first installment of Ms. Michaels’ Tricks of the Ton series. The setting of it is in series Regency England and follows three ladies as they deal with an aftermath of their choices. This first story tells the tale of trust and forgiveness and I would have bought it if it was even remotely believable, but it wasn’t to me.

As a matter a fact, the whole plot was forgettable because ... thanks for jumping to b2b to finish my review ...

I enjoyed this one, oh that Duke! It was silly and fun.

I was a bit surprised how things happened in this book. I know the all have their ways of causing scandal but Lily, she sure does something else. And one year later she meets Devon again. I can't say he is happy and that leads to one fun book. He blackmails her into doing things and get your minds out of the gutter. Not that. Other kind of games. But things will get serious as her idiot brother wants to marry her away, to a man of his choosing.

Lily was a breath of fresh air, mostly cos of the thing she did a year before. Sure she was lucky, but she took a chance. She is brave.

Devon is called the mad duke because his father was mad. And Devon does say and do outrageous things when he is annoyed at everyone. It was funny, because it's not things you say. But I got him, I would not want everyone calling me mad either.

Fun, sassy, a bit mad and passionate too. I want to read more. (

I am considering reading this book all over again tomorrow, I loved it so much. It has adventure, romance, bar fights, feminism, secrets, a meddling mother, sibling rivalry, and surprises weaved into each chapter. I have discovered that with the male characters in this book, you either love them or hate them. And one in particular, it is impossible not to hate. The villain is clearly defined in this story, and he is a chauvinistic pig. Clearly thinks women are beneath him and useless property. I may or may not have growled at some of his remarks. On the other hand, there are supporting characters that are very endearing, I would go on more but it's impossible to do without spoiling a secret that takes the whole book to reveal--but one of the supporting characters is a hero in the end! I wished I had that heroic character and even the meddling mother in my life, they were fantastic! Since completing this book, I really want to read "Desperately Seeking Suzanna", and then Ms. Michels' book coming out in July, "How to Lose a Lord in 10 Days or Less".

Pretty good book for the first in a new series. It's books like this that remind me why the historical romance genre is one of my favorites. I liked that the two MCs had a history with each other and I could actually see them falling in love. I also liked Nathaniel and his relationship, as you tend to not see that type of character in this genre. Looking forward to more in this series
