He deserved someone who was not so selfish and just unlikable. Sorry if that offends anyone but this is my review. I didn't like her. There are reasons I didn't like her. Showdown...he is sweet and sad and lonely. He made me cry. So Shannon does get points for helping him live and love again. This story was slower and not has pumped up as the the first two. But is was well written and we get a certain closure for Showdown's story. I would have wished for a better woman for Showdown. He suffered the worst that a man can suffer. But is was well written and we get a certain closure for Showdown's story. Into the Storm (Signal Bend #3) by Susan Fanetti was an easy and enjoyable read. After all of the action, violence, and loss in book two, it was nice to see that our characters and town were able to have some down time to just mellow out and move forward. Robert “Showdown” Ryan, has been with us since the first book, he’s 2nd in command to Isaac in the MC and known to be the even keel, the voice of reason. “Show” came out of book two with great personal losses, and I was amazed to see how well he was actually doing, but at the same time I was glad that the author did put some challenging, emotional and physical We met Shannon Bannerman at the end of book two; she is new to Signal Bend, not yet fully accepted by the town, and the manager of the new B&B. The attraction between “Show” and Shannon is slow to develop, but once “Show” drops his guard, and moves his guilt out of the way; it becomes easier for him to accept the role that Shannon could have in his life. Shannon helps “Show” get through some of the emotionally difficult times with his ex wife, the death of his daughter, and the handling of his home, but she holds a secret so paralyzing that she just can’t trust “Show” and their new relationship to revel it. The book is a quick and easy read, the flow of the writing well paced. The story has cameo appearances, by most of the characters we've meet in books 1 & 2, but does introduce us the “Hollywood” team writing the script for the Signal Bend movie, this being more of a sub-story line, that does not interfere with the primary romance. Both “Show” and Shannon are older (late 30’s to early 50’s), but experience a healthy, regular, and hot sex life throughout their relationship. The Author tastefully weaves the sex scenes throughout the story, maintaining their connection to the overall plot. The book has a even dose of drama, humor ( the three drunk woman), reason and character growth. The time span of the story is approx 1 to 1.5 years, so this s not a rushed relationship between “Show” and Shannon. The chemistry and connection between “them is allowed to feel real and believable. I’m very happy to hear that there will be a fourth book and that it will be out this year (Alone on Earth Book 4 - tentative release date: 1 March 2014) link to book 4 teaser http://tfcpress.wordpress.com/2014/01/18/teaser-alone-on-earth-book-four-of-the-... I’m also surprised who the “couple” will be , as I had pictured a totally different pair. For me a 4 star read, just because I wasn't on the edge of my seat biting my finger nails, but I have to say a smart move on the authors part to bring things to a calmer pace, and show the “townie’s” of Signal Bend healing, and moving on with their lives – makes for a much more believable backdrop for the story. 3 stars. After book 1 and 2 this was super tame and very predictable. I love Show (although I never learned why he was named Showdown). He is a loyal, wonderful man who lost so much but deserves the best of everything. I like Shannon as well. Just overall the book was really lacking any kind of spark for me... it was just very "middle of the road." I'm anxious to read the next book. I read from reviews that the pace really picks up and there are some big things that happened. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
