"You'd think that being chief seer for the supernatural world would come with a few perks. But as Cassie Palmer has learned, being Pythia doesn't mean you don't have to do things the hard way. That's why she finds herself on a rescue mission skipping through time--even though she doesn't entirely understand her dimension-bending new power. Rescuing her friend John Pritkin should have been an in-and-out kind of deal, but with the near-immortal mage's soul lost in time, Cassie has to hunt for it through the ages--with Pritkin's demon dad in tow. He's the only one who can reverse Pritkin's curse, but with the guardians of the timeline dead set on stopping anyone from mucking about, Cassie will have to figure out how to get her friend back without ruffling too many feathers--or causing a world-ending paradox or two..."-- Page [4] of cover.… (meer)

Very hectic pace. It continued with the search for Pritkin ( )

As much as I love this series, I find that an "adventure" scene that takes 20 plus pages is pushing it when the entire book seems filled with them. I love this series, don't get me wrong, but like someone else who reviewed this book said, it was two books ago when a major character went missing, needed rescuing, an now needs rescuing again. There is no resolution of any of the plot points, going back 4 books. I need for this author to stop writing a long and drawn out action scenes as a replacement for plot. It's like overly sexed books where every few pages there is a lengthy sex scene and you find yourself skipping through them just to get on with the story....

Like I said, I love this book, I laugh myself silly, and really feel for the characters.

The book reads
Action, Action, Laugh, Cassie ends up in her room filthy and tired, more action, more action, more laughs, a small bit of sexy-time, more laughs, more action, Cassie ends up home filthy and tired, politics are explained, people get angry, action, action, laugh, Cassie ends up home filthy, sexy time, plot moves forward....Final scene....CLIFFHANGER...

Damn these books that I can't stop reading, but really need to wait to let them progress..
Seriously, NOTHING GOT RESOLVED FROM TWO BOOKS AGO...this book's timeline beats 50-shades in that so much happens in such a short time period. The timeline from the first book to the end of this one is something like 4 months...

Reap the Wind picks up where Tempt the Stars left off. Cassie and Rosier are traveling back through time trying to locate Pritkin and his soul. Only it’s a lot harder to hex a one-day war mage than you might think. And when the Pythias of those long ago eras get their panties in a wad about Cassie being in their time, it’s as close to impossible as anything she has been up against.

And while she’s exhausting herself on this search through the ages the war is still ongoing, her court needs to be taken care of, and it’s time to set some boundaries with both the Circle and the Senate. Jonas thinks he can walk all over Cassie, Mircea thinks he can order her to do whatever he wants, and both of them want to hide her away.

Thankfully rescuing her court means she has help and finally someone supporting her ideas. Rhea is the cheerleader and educator Cassie has sorely been lacking. Add back in her former savior Tami and girl power is in full swing. It’s so great to see Cassie stand up for herself and even better when Rhea does it.

I love this book. It’s always fun to spend time with Rosier and we get to know Rico, a vamp bodyguard, a bit better too. Even Billy makes a brief appearance. I always love going back in time and a trip to Faerie never hurts. But the best part is how much Cassie grows into herself. She finally believes she is Pythia and trusts her own judgement. I can not wait to start Ride the Storm and keep the story rolling!! ( )

I need the next book stat!!! Totally addictive as per usual and impossible to put down. One of the best written heroines I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet on the page (Dorina Basarab being the second also by this author) and a cast of friends and love interests to die for! Can’t wait to see what happens next!!! ( )

In Reap the Wind, the clock is ticking on Ares' return. Cassie is aware more than ever that the former Pythia's, Anges', acolytes are causing chaos and making it easier for Ares to slip through the border between their dimensions. Pritkin's, aka Merlin's, soul is slipping further away. Cassie brings Rosier along to save him. As always with a Chance novel, Reap the Wind is packed.

Rosier and Cassie's interactions are a delight. They have a spark of hatred for each other that never dims through multiple centuries and miles and miles of Welsh forest. In present day, Rhea is the only remaining alcolyte that knows what she's talking about and willingly helps Cassie be an effective Pythia. Rhea really shines in this novel. The turbulent relationships with Marsden and Mircea get their spotlights.

All around, I had so much fun reading Reap the Wind. See you in Ride the Storm! ( )
