The Berenstain Bears Get in a Fight (editie 1982)

I believe this is a realistic novel because fights do happen with children! This is a story to read to them before or after they fight so that they know that it is not okay to fight, but at the same time, that sometimes we do get upset with each other. It is all about how we handle the situation and the bears in this book explain to the reader just how to do that!

Brother and Sister bear get in their first fight and learn a big lesson about getting along. ( )

I thought that this was a very good book, that will help children understand how to get over fights, and how to stay out of them. ( )

The usually compatible Brother and Sister Bear are fighting--all day long! Mama Bear helps them realize that everyone argues once in a while, even with loved ones. ( )

This story has a fairly simple plot, with the siblings' fight being compared to a storm in very nice pictures. However, the overall effect of the text is a little clichéd. This story is probably better geared to younger readers. A joke between Mama and Papa in the book is a nice breaking point for the tension in the story. ( )
