It is a fairly good sequel and I liked it a little better than Shadows. The main issues I had with the first book did, disappointingly, end up popping up again in Haze. My biggest issue was that secrets, ones that seem important, are continually withheld from Gaby. Rafa, the obvious love interest, never really tells her anything when she asks, brushing the conversation off every single time. He probably has his reasons, but it would make things easier to fill her in with something. Secondly, the whole fantasizing about Rafa undressing her was brought up like three or four times. Come on, Gaby, I get it. You think he’s hot, but please focus elsewhere. It took me a long time to finish reading because honestly it didn’t start getting interesting until after the 50% mark. Despite what I didn’t like, I still think Haze is a good read and since I own the other two books I will continue on until the end. Not much is learned in Haze, so I still need answers and I hope they will be worth the time. Plus I need more lasting demon action. ![]() Of course, Weston had to end on a cliff hanger that will drive me insane and I hope that it's resolved in the next book or I just might scream. Can't wait to read what will happen next in the story. This is the second book in this series and I felt it really bogged down in the relationship drama between Gaby and Rafa about 1/3 of the way in and didn't pick up any action again until 1/2 way through. It took me a while to read because of this. These characters are supposed to be 130 year old half angels but they are acting like moody teenagers. I can forgive Gaby's character somewhat due to her memory loss but Rafa has no such excuse and he is worse than her at it. There has been lots of references to Gaby's past relationship ( or lack of it) with Rafa and lot of various people telling her you'll hate yourself when you remember. But it all got a bit annoying after the 10th time this was mentioned. The book does pick up in the second half and events move quickly. I will be reading the next one I just hope it is more action and less drama geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

HTML:Gaby Winters' life used to be pretty normal. She lived with her best friend. She worked in a library. She was slowly getting over the death of her twin brother, Jude. And then Rafa came looking for her. With him, her blood-soaked nightmares stopped. But now they are reality. She is one of the Rephaim - a wingless half angel, descended from the Fallen. Demons exist and they are hunting her. She knows she's alive when she's meant to be dead. And that means maybe Jude is too. So why isn't she out there looking for him?
