It's time for the bonding ceremony and the Tribunal. The coven has somehow wrangled an invitation to speak at the Tribunal, but nobody expects to see them at the ceremony. But they crash and interrupt, which makes it possible for their plans for the Tribunal to be fulfilled. To hopefully prevent a war, Tessa agrees to spend a month with the coven, behind the boundary that prevents her from communicating with Dastien, and completely without using any of her alpha/wolf abilities.

Of course the coven is up to something. Something way more evil than anyone had thought, with surprising allies and very dangerous plans.

Somehow these books are always fresh. It's still Tessa, still her life and her problems, but putting her in this new setting and taking her away from her found family (and putting her with her actual family, Claudia and Raphael) gives everything a new feel. If Aileen Erin can keep this up I'll be reading this series until she ends it.

Alpha Divided is an exciting and fast paced book that I could not put down.

Tessa is amazing. She has gone through so many changes in such a short amount of time. She is strong and clever. She is a character you want to see succeed. She is still learning about the supernatural world and how to maneuver through it. I admire her for making the sacrifice to live with the witches. She discovers more about her heritage and its inner workings.

My heart broke for Tessa and Dastien when they had to be separated. The agony of what they had to endure was frustrating, evil witches.

The plot of Alpha Divided was original and intriguing. You never knew what to expect or who you could really trust. The story was well-written and mysterious. I really enjoy this series and look forward to future books.

This series holds a special place in my heart. I just fell in love with the story, the way it's executed and Dastien (of course). It's so hard to explain what made me fall so hard for this book.
the first two books introduces the Were's plus bad (not so hot) vampires (good for a change) world, but this one is a different story it's about the brujas witch (means witchs of La alquelarre), a great storyline
& a hard life for Tessa and Dastien where nothing is easy, and where that must fight for what they believe.

but what I must say, that the reason why I haven't given this one a 5 stars is because the book was draging in the middle whichmade skip a few pages and a few lines. And I felt like this innparticular was short haven't had enough.
But seriously when can I ever get enough ( )

AVOIDING ALPHA felt like more of a filler book so I was excited to jump into ALPHA DIVIDED and continue the story I fell in love with during BECOMING ALPHA.

It was really nice to see how much Tessa's feelings about her wolf have changed. She has finally accepted it and it was pretty painful to watch her being forced to suppress that part of herself in ALPHA DIVIDED. Tessa doesn't want anything to do with the Bruja community and the way it was forced on her sucked. The good thing is he really did learn a few things about herself she needed to know. Anyone who has been reading the series knows that Luciana is up to no good and has an ulterior motive for everything she does, it was nice to finally see her motives revealed.

It's a bit of a bummer that things between Tessa and Dastien were once again pushed off. We waiting during book 2, we waited now through book 3 and now we have to wait again through book 4 because book 4 will be following Claudia while she travels to Peru. I am all for a little waiting but that is just ridiculous. I am glad we got a full feeling story back though and I am still a fan.

ALPHA DIVIDED was everything that AVOIDING ALPHA should have been with its bruja plot line, True Mates romance, and full bodied adventure. Tessa really came into her own in this installment by not only embracing her werewolf half, but her witch roots as well. The villain was easy to hate, tied in nicely with the previous novel, and helped expand the ALPHA GIRL world by adding demons, fey, and the possibility of having to ‘out’ supernaturals to humans in the near future. My complaint about the price vs. length remains mind you; two hundred pages (bk 2 & 3) shouldn’t cost the same as four hundred (bk 1) in my opinion, and I wish that Aileen Erin would have ended this tale with the full moon ceremony rather than forcing readers to wait until AFTER the upcoming ‘Claudia’s trip to Peru’ story due out in May 2015.

I’ve been looking forward to spending more time with Tessa’s cousins ever since their characters were first introduced, so I was pleased that the vast majority of this book took place in la Aquelarre. Life in the coven is very different than St Ailbe’s, especially under Luciana’s leadership. I’ve heard of roughing it, but this was an extreme case with thirties style housing, no tech, and a kill switch on every member’s land line. I enjoyed learning more about McCaide’s family through her visions, and great aunt, Tia Rosa. The craft aspects were equally well-developed with Daniel’s spell lessons, Alverez’s dark mojo, and the game changing ritual. Tessa’s failed attempts at learning magic were downright laughable—those poor jars!—however, she eventually realized that her strengths lie elsewhere, and finally embraced her visions.

The plot was easy to follow, and the outcome was foreseeable because the Big Bad broadcast her intentions in the opening chapters, but that in no way lowered my overall enjoyment. There were still a number of unanticipated surprises, and the ending managed to catch me off guard with a regrettable character death. I liked the shout-outs to FIREFLY, THE MATRIX, and Christine Feehan’s SEA HAVEN novels, and McCaide’s eclectic taste in music was fitting given this is New Adult. The author also broadened the ALPHA GIRL universe by roping in the fey, demons, and sorcerers. I wish that the heroine’s brother and BFF hadn’t been sidelined, although it did make sense on account of the la Aquelarre locale, and Claudia & Raphael were an acceptable substitution.

I was disappointed that Dastien didn’t appear in more scenes, however the ones he did have packed a formidable punch which certainly went a long way in appeasing me on that front. Tessa obviously needed to learn how to stand on her own two feet before committing herself to one man for the rest of her life, especially given all of the recent changes she’s had to deal with, and I think this novel accomplished that. I wasn’t sold on the whole insta-love thing in the earlier installments, but their relationship has now reached a happy place. This story began with Tessa and Dastien’s full moon ceremony getting interrupted, so I was peeved that the author didn’t conclude with that, and learning that the werewolves will be MIA in book 4 didn’t exactly help.

Hiccups aside, ALPHA DIVIDED renewed my love of this series, and I look forward to reading not one but TWO new ALPHA GIRL novels in 2015! ( )
