The author, Ed Bulkley is the pastor of a large megachurch in the metro Denver, Colorado, area. He is also the president of the International Association of Biblical Counselors (IABC). This book is presumably a legitimate representation of his approach to counseling, which declares that the Bible contains all we need to know about counseling. He strongly denounces any approach to counseling that looks to any tools beyond the scriptures. He speaks strongly in opposition to most seminary trained Christian counseling approaches, because he believes that they look to secular truth rather than Scripture. He aligns much of his thinking with Jay Adams. It was a fascinating read and a great example of myopic application of scriptures. If one is looking for counseling help, I do not believe this would be a reliable resource. ( )
