Early in 2012, a group of people in the charming village of Corrales, New Mexico got together and started to deeply explore the craft of writing with an expert in the discipline. Some members of the group were new to writing and others were more experienced, even already-published. But all had a desire to learn and improve. Since then, the six members of the Corrales Writing Grup have written and shared stories, reflections, poetry, plays and essays that are humorous, touching, and inspiring. Every two weeks the group met to critique the works of one or two of its members. These critiques made each story better and better, and the members of the group bonded through the process. For writing is not just a craft. It is a journey walked on a meandering path that is paved with willingness to open oneself to others. This volume, The Corrales Writing Group 2013 Anthology, represents some of the writing of the group. Its content will make the reader laugh, wonder, cry, smile and reminisce. Maybe it will encourage others to write, too.
