The Basilisks Creed
By Eme Strife

The Basilisks Creed is a provocative science fiction story with a flowing and rapidly paced fantastical dream of a girl, Eli, who encounters a grim reaper named Matt. He is not just any grim reaper he is a Golden Commander of all of the grim reapers. The story unfolds as he smells a wonderful scent coming from this shy girl when she is transported in her dream to his spirit world. Matt tries to seduce her but as he is caressing her, her alarm clock goes off and she returns to reality. He must find her again because the world is falling apart because a Shift in control has occurred. I will wait desperately for the next edition to find out what happens in the next book! Book given for review and it is online ( )

I had little to no idea of what I should expect from The Basilisk's Creed... I was even a bit scared by some of the available reviews!
But I couldn't be more delighted reading the thoughts of Mr.Soul Reaper! haha...

To begin with, you have to keep in mind that this is only the first part of the whole book and by the last pages, you will get "angry" for a good reason: because you will want to read more and it ends all of a sudden, without that "to be continued" feeling you have with other book series!
You'll devour it all pretty fast and want to read the other parts asap.

The way the book was written is pretty similar to Liam Hearn's style: with chapters being told by the 2 main characters, alternately. This is a very good narration style that makes the reader understand and sympathize deeply with atleast one of the characters.

Talking about characters... Matt is a character made to be loved by everyone! He's charming and his storyline is super interesting... something that doesn't happen to the other main character. You'll be looking forward for their meeting though.

I totally recommend trying it... specially when the whole book comes out as a unique volume. ( )

“The Basilisk’s Creed” by Eme Strife is a paranormal romance about a girl named Eli desperately trying to make it in San Francisco despite not having a dime. Through her dreams she meets the most beautiful man she’s ever seen only to find out that he’s not actually a man, he’s a soul reaper.

The story itself was amusing and for me it was also quite unpredictable. I wasn’t really sure what I was getting into when I started reading and from the language (i.e. abundant swearing in church) to the intense sexual content rivaling “Fifty Shades of Grey,” the entire narrative was unexpected.

I have this as an early reviewer for LibraryThing. I don't like to post spoilers about the book because it takes away from those who want to read it, so I will be general with my description and say that this was a wonderful book. Mixture of romance and scifi/fantasy. I found myself laughing often and turning the pages as quickly so I could to read more. The sexual parts of the book were very sultry and I didn't find them to be overpowering or distasteful. I felt they were very well written (had me fanning my face a few times lol). The book moves fast but I bet you will have a hard time not going just as fast reading it. ( )

Not a book I took to unfortunately.
Not a fan of the style of writing and the swearing got to be a bit boring.
I was given a digital copy of this book by the author via Librarything giveaway in return for an honest unbiased review. ( )

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I loved this short introduction to the World of The Basilisk's Creed! There is some really hot action between Eli & Matt and I can't wait to read more!
