I was given this print in return for and honest review. Annie Matthews visited her grand mother a her mother wanted nothing to do with the hot weather, snakes, crocs, and swampland. Annie was hoping to stay out of the public's presence until her grandma showed how to control her curse. She heard people's auras and being around too many people at once drove her brain nuts. It was the full moon and a noise that woke her and a blue wisps lured her away from the cabin and into the forest in the middle of the night. She only slipped her feet into flip-flops and didn't think to bring a flashlight.

Native American Shadow Hunter, Tombi Silver was bent on revenge, and as a last resort he could only turn to the witch, Annie Matthews for help. She had discovered where his friend was mystically trapped in the forest that could trap the rest of his people thanks to hurricane Katrina releasing a dark demon hat had been bound for generations. I haven't read a Harlequin book in quite a while and I actually haven't read a strictly romance based book in a while either. I usually read urban fantasy. So with that said, I enjoyed this book! I confess, I skimmed the sex scenes but I enjoyed the characters, story lines, and blend of supernatural with mythos. I liked being introduced to some Southern culture as well :) Recommend for those that don't mind some romance with their paranormal reads.

The mysterious bayou pulled me in to the story immediately. By exploring the folklore and legends of the Choctaw tribe, this romance novel offers more meat for the reader. The relationship between Tombi and Annie offered no surprises, but the reader still gets a good love story. I would have liked it to have been a longer story, so it could have dug deeper into the legends that the author only had time to touch upon.
