Ik had deze serie een beetje verwaarloosd, maar door de maand-challenge van de ff-leesclub heb ik dit tweede deel uit de kast gepakt. En het was ouderwets genieten van een fantasy verhaal met draken, dus wat wil je nog meer. ( )

Wen - kort voor 'Wraak' - wordt in afzondering grootgebracht onder de zorgzame en vooral waakzame blik van de geliefde van zijn overleden moeder. Wen is een kind uit twee werelden, half mens - half draak.
Marcus is de broer die Wen nooit heeft gekend - hij groeit op aan het hof en geniet daar alle voorrechten die zijn positie met zich meebrengt. Zo op het oog is hij menselijk, maar zijn psychisch contact met Wen verraadt de drakenmagie die ook in hem sluimert.
