On the next to last page, Mother is standing at the bottom of the stairs with her head in her hands...that is the way I felt all through this title. Being that the main character is wearing the same clothes throughout the story...it must have all happened on the same day...I just can't imagine something like that day happening EVERY day. I wouldn't want to share this book with kids though because I think that would give them ideas of how to spend their day. However, my favorite happens to be stapling her brother's hair to his pillow while he is sleeping (how in the world did she do it with out his waking up)... and the picture of his crying to his Mother with his head stuck to the pillow. I really really like this book - it's possible that it's because I'm an adult and also not a parent, because there are lots of negative reviews of this book from people who say they'd never let their kids read it, but as a childless adult I loved this book. I love how our protagonist pushes limits and experiments. She may turn out to be a psychopath but probably a pretty successful one. 17 Things I'm not allowed to do anymore by Jenny Offill An idea that the boy has are not good ones but harmful, now he's no longer able to do them... The things would either harm him or someone else. I can just imagine the pictures in this children's book. Love the one where he's not longer able to order his mother some food, like a waitress. SO funny. I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device). geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
