Unfortunately I have already seen (and loved) the movie so I knew everything that was going to happen. had I not seen the movie, I would have enjoyed this very much. (

2.5? 3 stars? I don't really get the hype. Scott is kind of insufferable and a lot of the jokes did not age well. Really big kudos to the artwork though, the color brings a lot of life, I can't imagine reading this in just black and white. (

I only read this because I heard Michael Cera is going to be in a Scott Pilgrim movie. I think it took me maybe 40 minutes, which isn't the most satisfying reading experience. It just gets going and it's over! But it's hip and funny and I'll probably keep reading the series.

My only complaint (besides the brevity) is that most of the characters look so much alike it's hard to tell them apart. They all have the same face. Scott totally looks like a girl, which is weird because I think Michael Cera totally looks like a girl in the ads for his new movie Year One.

P.S. A sweet high school girl named Knives? Crazy. (

Blasphemy, I know, but so far, I like the movie better. A friend summed it up well- in the books, Scott seems like a wise fool, but in the movie, he seems like a plain old fool, and a big part of me feels it's necessary for him to be a regular fool for the story to work properly. (
