The story brings a positive light to morning routines and the beginning of each day. The story gives many examples of what could be heard in the morning. The alarm clock, rooster, people outside etc. Another cute picture book, a companion to the author's What Color is Night?. Like that one, this has simple text; here, most of it rhymes, until the last couple of pages. The illustrations are simple and clear. This book (or the illustrations in the book) is apparently rectangular, wider than it is tall; it was OK to read as an ebook (epub), though I suspect it would look better on paper. Like Night, the book takes the reader on a gentle voyage through a waking world, from birds singing to a rooster crowing on a farm to a garbage truck clanking down a street. It would probably be quite nice to read to/with a child; too simple to really be enjoyable for an adult reader (for me, anyway). geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
