This is just the life of a middle-aged woman going well after a divorce with a few minor bumps on the way and a little bit of magic mixed in.
There was magic and quite a bit of it but it was entirely unnecessary. You could remove the magic entirely and the book would work just as well.

Furthermore, there just isn't anything really interesting going on. No conflict.
Technically there is one thing that might count as conflict but it's resolved very fast and with no effort whatsoever.
Basically, everything just falls into the MC's lap.

I guess there might be an audience for this but it just wasn't for me. ( )

An absolute joy!!!

I loved my first book in the new Paranormal Women's Fiction genre! I got this and two others in the genre, and I'm hooked! I've adored each and every book Deanna Chase has released in her quirky, and just plain brilliant witch series! This one is no different. At the center is a wonderfully big hearted, fierce, mid forties female witch that has just been dumped by her cheating loser of a husband. His loss! For this witch is definitely gaining her mojo back!! A great into into this witty, funny series. I can't wait for the future books in this series about our main characters BFF's. Three cheers for this amazing new genre! ( )

Witching for Grace by Deanna Chase is the debut of the Premonition Pointe series. Grace Valentine is on her own after having been married for twenty years. She also ran her husband’s real estate firm, so she needs a new job. Grace interviewed with Kevin Landers at Landers Realty (her husband’s rival firm) and has a temporary position as a realtor. If Grace wants full-time employment, she must sell one of three haunted properties that no one has been able to sell. Grace, thankfully, is a witch, so she has the right skills and connections. Grace has been trying to resist the urge to hex her cheating ex-husband and the twenty something he picked over her. As if Grace does not have enough going on, her niece needs a place to stay thanks to her mother’s sleaze of a live-in boyfriend, Grace’s hot flashes are off the charts, and her roots need done (desperately). On the upside, the thirty-four years old realtor in the office has asked Grace out (now she really needs a hair appointment). Witching for Grace gives us a look at a forty-five year old woman (and witch) who is starting over. Most of the life situations are realistic with humorous and witchy twists. Grace is lucky to have two good friends in Joy and Hope plus she has her niece, Lex. I would have liked more backstory on Grace and the town. I felt that was lacking. I loved the haunted homes and how Grace went about finding new owners for them (a story just on the haunted homes would have been intriguing). I would have liked to have heard more from the spirited inhabitants. There are some good life lessons in Witching for Grace that will resonate with many people. I do want to let readers know there is foul language (quite a bit) and sexual innuendos. Grace experiences passionate kisses that have her hormones on overdrive (the thoughts alone cause her to have hot flashes—she needs to start carrying a battery operated fan in her purse). I liked how the story ended and we get a glimpse at Hope’s tale which is next in Witching for Hope. Witching for Grace is an amatory romance story with a courageous cat, a charming colleague, an insensitive sister, humdrum hair, waxing woes, and haunted houses. ( )
