Iām so glad that weāre continuing to get romances set in the Green Valley world. Deputy sheriff Jackson James has always been a favorite character. After loving the prequel novella set 5.5 years before the events of this novel take place, where Jackson and Hollywood actress Raquel Ezra have a one-night fling after meeting at a wedding, I was eager to see where things picked up. The pie scene was especially funny. (Actually, there were several pie scenes and this whole book was funny.) I really loved Jacksonās sweetness, the relationship he had with his dad, the fake dating relationship Raquel had been trying to escape from in Hollywood, and of course getting to see glimpses of the Winston clan. This book was just a treat to read from start to finish as Rae and Jackson worked their way towards their happy ending. They were both just such good people. I loved reading about the friendships they had with other characters in the book, too. This was just a heartwarming addition to the Green Valley universe to read. 5/5 stars. ( ) Definitely my least favorite Penny Reid book (and I think I've read them all). I was looking forward to Jackson's story, a character I didn't like at first but came around to really liking the guy. The story felt very low-effort. Not much really happens, and what does is sort of a recap of Jet and Sienna's story. I never got Raquel; she's got everything, is insecure about her mother, and can't make up her mind about anything. Jackson deserved better. But we got some Cletus so that was good. There were quite a few editing errors and typos. Sienna raising her glass with a "Here, here" was one of the worse but it felt sloppy overall. That's not a quality I've seen a lot in Ms. Reid and/or Smartypants books. Aside from the story itself (and not included in my evaluation), I have to ask what the deal is with including the prequel I paid for as part of this book. Either I paid for it twice or others got it for free. The money isn't a problem, but marketing-wise it seems like a poor ploy. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

HTML: One unforgettable night leads to an unlikely shared connection, and unlikely connections never go unnoticed by the good folks in Green Valley, Tennessee. . . Jackson James follows the rules. He has to. He's a sheriff's deputy in a super small town with a super big personality. However, strict adherence to the law during the day has been enjoyably balanced by rakish rules at night. Jackson, typically happy to protect and serve (and serve, and serve), starts questioning the value of wayward evenings when getting laid starts to feel more like being waylaid. Could it be that Green Valley's most eligibleā??and notoriousā??bachelor longs for something (and someone) real? Mega movie star Raquel Ezra follows only one rule: always leave them wanting more. Studio execs, reporters, audiences, fans, loversā??no one can get enough of the smart, savvy, and sexy bombshell. But when "generous offers" begin to feel more like excessive demands, years of always leaving has the elusive starlet longing for something (and perhaps someone) lasting. When Raquel abruptly returns to the quirky Tennessee hamlet, her path crosses with the delectable deputy with whom she spent one unforgettable night. Unfortunately, scandal and intrigue soon follow. Raquel and Jackson must decide which is more important: following their rules? Or, at long last, finding something real. TOTALLY FOLKED is a standalone, contemporary romantic comedy novel and book #1 in the Good Folk: Modern Folktales ser Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
