This book made me want to quit my desk job, buy a farm and get some goats. Hilarie is relateable on so many levels, her desire to do good in her community is admirable, and her bravery in sharing her struggle with miscarriage and grief is something I relate to on such a personal level. She tells you from the get go that this book is a love story - and it is - a love story not just about her and Mr. Morgan, but a love story about a town, and community and finding yourself where you would least expect to. ( ) I cried quite a few times while Hilarie told her story, there were really happy moments and some very sad moments. I love the family that Hilarie and John have created for themselves, their family is not just each other but their children's, their animals, their friends, and their community. Someday I will make my way to New York state again and I will have to visit Rhinebeck because Hilarie made it sound so welcoming and I love sweets. A deeply personal and honest memoir from one of the stars of the CWs hit tv show One Tree Hill. Although I started the book bc I was a huge fan of the actress and the show, the memoir explains Hilarie's reasons for leaving and focuses on her life after the show. (For you fans out there, although we shouldn't need an explanation, it definitely makes more sense why she did what she did now). In the book Hilarie is very honest about her search for self fulfillment, relationship with fellow actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan and fertility struggles. Along the way, she shares lots of great recipes and life learnings. I was deeply touched by the book and would recommend to anyone who is a fan of Hilarie or simply wanting to learn about a fellow humans journey and struggles with finding herself and home. this was very cute! by no means am i a true fan of Hilarie Burton Morgan, but i heard great things about this book and i am glad i gave it a listen! i cried SO much during all the stories of death - of animals and of miscarriages. Hilarie Burton Morgan pours her heart out and shares very intimate moments with us and is such a good storyteller. loved listening to all her stories of friendships and love and strength. and the farm! i would love to go visit and see all her animals and visit Samuel's - both seem like very special places. this book reminded me of talking to a lifelong friend and i enjoyed it very much I’m really not a popular culture sort of person, so I hadn’t really recognized any of the celebrities in this book, but I understand the longing for a beautiful rural home, in a community where you feel like you belong. The book was fascinating — it’s cool to see what life as professional and successful actors is like, and to hear Hilarie’s perspective on the industry and finding a place to feel like a respected woman in it. As a book about country life… well, it’s a little more Hollywood than everyday, and that has a certain magic to it as well. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
