It has been over sixtry years since I read this book while a college student but I still remember quite a bit of it. The translation is natural, and the book is a masterpiece. ( ) I'm not a scholar of Spanish literature, but I love Samuel Putnam's translation. Compared to Motteux, I find Putnam's to be just the right combination of modern and Renaissance language and sensibility. This Viking Portable edition has significant abbreviation: Putnam fills in with a summary in each instance. A bit frustrating if you love this epic as I do. I would recommend Putnam's full translation. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
