Vlad, known to his friends in the Bromance Book Club as The Russian, has only worn his heart on his sleeve but the secret none of his friends know is that his marriage to his wife, Elena, is a marriage of convenience. When Elena announces she wants a divorce, Vlad is devastated. Making matters worse, Vlad is injured while playing for his NHL team and fractures his leg. Much to Vlad's surprise, Elena volunteers to help take care of him. Vlad hopes this will give him one more chance to try and woo his wife. But it might take some assistance from the Bromance Book Club for Vlad and Elena to really make their marriage work. I've always been fond of The Russian in the previous Bromance Book Club titles, so I was pleased to finally have a book focused on him. Vlad and Elena's relationship is complicated but I was delighted to see a modern take on a marriage of convenience plot. I also think the author did a solid job of both reflecting Russian culture and not shying away from the dangers that caused Elena to leave the country in the first place. Recommended for fans of the series. I'm seriously having trouble rating this book! It's by far the best since the 1st came out. It's like the author listened to all our grievances, fixed them and added some more brilliance. I LOVED Claud!! Anytime she intervened i would end up laughing. Lol If/When Colton gets his own book i suspect he'll end up with Michelle. Claud's daughter feels more like a groupie than a serious life partner. Anyway, thanks to the author for another great book. 5/5 Stars ⭐️! Love love love! This book was probably my favorite in the series so far. I am so happy that gentle giant Vlad finally got his own love story and happy ending. I also enjoyed that we not only got snippets of the romance novel throughout the book, but it also was the romance novel Vlad was writing! Plus the Cheese Man plot line was hilarious. Ugh can’t say enough good things about this book. Highly recommend! geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

With his passion for romance novels, it was only a matter of time before Vlad wrote one. Elena Konnikova has lived her entire adult life in the shadows. As the daughter of a Russian journalist who mysteriously disappeared, she escaped danger the only way she knew how: She married her childhood friend, Vladimir, and moved to the United States, where he is a professional hockey player in Nashville. Vlad, aka the Russian, thought he could be content with his marriage of convenience. But it's become too difficult to continue in a one-sided relationship. He joined the Bromance Book Club to learn how to make his wife love him, but all he's learned is that he deserves more. He's ready to create his own sweeping romance--both on and off the page. The bros are unwilling to let Vlad forgo true love--and this time they're not operating solo. They join forces with Vlad's neighbors, a group of meddling widows who call themselves the Loners. But just when things finally look promising, Elena's past life intrudes and their happily ever after is cast into doubt. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

I do wish that there were 2 narrators, like the first book had. It is easier to keep track of the story and the story within the story.
