It is the story of a teenage boy who survives a shipwreck and embarks on a voyage across the Pacific Ocean accompanied by a Bengal tiger. The movie companion includes a video introduction with Yann Martel and Ang Lee, and the stories behind Pi and the tiger. The book is creative and well done. It gives you the opportunity to experience Pi's journey with the tiger again and again. (Some of this information is from Apple Books.) A boy and a tiger in a lifeboat. Maybe it's hurt by watching it on a two-dimensional small screen, but I don't understand all the fuss about the visuals. Yeah, they did a lot of stuff that would have been unfilmable five or ten years ago, but it still just looks like cartoons to me. This is nitpicking, though; it's a very good movie.
