This book can be read to a 1-2 grade when we are talking about friendship. This also helps with figurative language. Judith Viorst is an American writer, newspaper journalist, and psychoanalysis researcher. She is known for her humorous observational poetry and for her children's literature. Source: Wikipedia. This is illustrator, Lorna Tomei's, first book. Her beautiful pencil drawings truly reinforce the story. Judith Viorst herself said of this work, "These are the friends who are there whenever you need them. . .These are the friends who know what we're like--including the not-so-great stuff that we usually hide--but they like us anyhow. . ." Michael and Rosie are best friends, but they are very different in many ways. Michael may play pranks on Rosie, but Rosie is still Michael's friend. This is great book about companionship and loyalty. I would read this to a class when beginning a new year of school, where students are starting new friendships. Students can see that though they could be total opposites they could possibly become the best of friends like Michael and Rosie. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
