I love LOVE cheesy holiday romances so this was right up my alley. It did get a teensy bit slow in the middle which made me consider a 3.5. But this book had me kicking my feet and sipping on cocoa so in the end I had to give a full 4 stars. Honestly I am also so jealous and would give anything to live in fern falls. Love the second chance at love trope, themes of friendship/reconnecting with family and the workaholic turned Christmas cheese ball really only works with the gays in my opinion. If you’re looking for a wlw hallmark movie in a book I cannot recommend this enough. (

An event planner takes a job in her home town, which she left in a hurry to go to college after a split with her bff/crush years ago. Old almost-flame is still there (along with EP’s other besties), working the family tree farm. The job she’s taken is – you guessed it – for the tree farm. Romance ensues.

A good-enough (f/f) love story, with a modest amount of steam. (

I'm trying to dip into all the romantic genres that fall this side of fantasy, science fiction, horror and gothic. Sure I know that first one is so popular that it moreorless disqualifies me from being considered a widely read romantic fiction reader.

But here I come to these FF novels. I read the summary, which put me off, and I started listening to the book, but I couldn't be induced to go further - not when there is so much else waiting to be read, blah, blah.

BUT, here is a question: are all FF novels in the romantic comedy style? That could be my problem.

I have cooled on romantic comedy and want a little more drama these days. I hope it isn't a long-lived aversion, because it was one of my favorite styles for a long while.

To explain, I give a book only 1 star if I can't get into it. (
