I listened to this one on audio and I love Kate Rudd, she is one of the best narrators and she has incredible talent for doing audiobooks. If you haven't listened to an audiobook by Kate Rudd yet then you should. She's one of the best! She really makes Muirwood and the characters and everything come alive with this story like all the others she's done too.
This story is a bit different than the other Muirwood series and still awesome. I love seeing how Muirwood came to be and going back in time and seeing things with this character, Eilean and how she comes to be the servant to the druid, Mordaunt and then starts to learn how to use her talents, skills and magic as she finds her place with playing her role and doing what she's meant to do. There are betrayals, secrets and things aren't always as clear cut as they appear to be - it's a bit confusing as to who really is the bad guy or the good guy in this one at first and I love how it all plays out.
Make sure to check this one out especially with the second book of this series, The Hunted, coming out today! I highly recommend checking this one out so you're ready for the next one. (
