I cannot put my finger on exactly where this book went wrong for me. It was good, don't get me wrong on that account, but it just wasn't my jam. The story is intriguing enough that I wanted to know what happened, but I felt like there wasn't anything very special about it. Nothing really made me go, "Wow!" like I was expecting. The conspiracy theories and mysteries surrounding the crash felt unoriginal. The bi rep felt unnecessary and it was thrown in at odd times as a reminder that the FMC, Violet, is, in fact, bisexual even if her love interest is a boy. The relationship between Violet and Landon was the most enjoyable part of the whole story for me...it was cute, but again, nothing special. If you're looking for something to pick up that's just interesting enough to hold your attention and you can read in a day or so, then this one might be for you. But I'd say don't go in expecting too much. Thank you Entangled Teen for the e-ARC to read and honestly review. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

Of course, social media is rife with speculation, mostly negative which increases the pressure on Violet to find out what happened...which causes her to want to cut herself, even though she's been 40+ days without. While she holds out hope that her mother is still alive, even her dad and sister are using her mother in the past tense.
Add to that, school theater issues, romantic issues (hers and her sister's) and family issues, and Violet is a mess.
The Gravity of Missing Things touches on a lot of sensitive topics and it does it well. The stories, characters and writing are good. You'll enjoy it. ( )
