Cloak of Purity by Rebecca Van Stensel reveals the story of biblical Tamar. This book fills in the details that were left out for this socially disenfranchised woman. Many human and cultural elements have been well researched and historic notes and maps are included - which I always enjoy. If you like traveling through another life and time while you both learn and are entertained, this will be an enjoyable read. The story may give you hope if you have been tested as a victim, and is a satisfying tale for adults of all ages and genders. I loved the open ended discussion questions included at the end of each chapter - and that is one reason my book club has chosen this for our next book. Avoiding spoilers I will say that Tamar uses her gifts and finds an unusual path. I want to believe this could have been what really happened!
