Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. I was given a free copy of "Overthinking Override" via LibraryThing. This book was well written and easy to read. Some "self-help" type books are very wordy, this book was easy to read and understand. It gave several ideas and option to use to work on handling stress and anxiety. This book was very helpful. Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. This book contains a lot of information that is conveniently organized into steps you can take to identify and understand the thoughts and habits that lead to overthinking. It explains and lays out a plan that uses techniques garnered from several scientifically proven therapies. There are tips, illustrations and practical exercises to help you organize your thoughts and life. I especially liked the 2 min. rule and have successfully used this technique to tackle an overwhelmed to-do list that would hang over me for days. I enjoyed the mindful meditations and found them especially useful for reducing stress. The author relates personal experiences to help illustrate each section. I would recommend this book to anyone who is burdened by indecisiveness, worry and repetitive thoughts that keep you from enjoying life. Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. A compendium of strategies for organizing and prioritizing brought together with psychology framework to understand how to tackle mental blockers and anxiety and move forward. While a few different concepts are combined in this book, it's eminently readable. It doesn't go into the concepts too deeply but does provide good broad tactical approaches to tackle roadblocks for users. Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. I quite enjoyed this book, and just because of literally crippling anxiety that I’ve had for many, many years. It is easy to read, but well researched ; it is a quick read, but in depth to cover, but not overwhelm readers. It’s a good book. There is a lot of pandering, at least to the lowest common denominator, and there could be a high brow of commonality in the examples. It certainly got me thinking, and I tried a few things as they were explained. Its a good, not great, but good pop psych regurgitation of psychological attempts to lessen anxiety. There are some format errors, which could be up to the electronic book medium, and some of the claims in here are dubious, but it’s a fair attempt. Well done. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

This is the 2nd book I've reviewed by the same author and while I enjoyed the first one (People Person: How to Talk to Anyone, Improve Social Awkwardness, and Communicate With Ease and Confidence), I especially enjoyed this one because of the step-by-step approach that was full of exercises and how-tos. It's very reminiscent of exercises done in "in person" therapy. However, it was full of so much information, I found myself becoming overwhelmed: when I finished the book, I almost didn't know where to begin. ("how about chapter 3?") So I made myself a cheat sheet of the exercises and charts, so could easily reference them later.
Good book, helpful and definitely recommend. ( )
