I sometimes think back to the festival and wish I could relive that night, at least the beginning, before everything all fell apart ... again. Maria is struggling in Underfoot. A hooded figure haunts her dreams, her mind-reading abilities have grown so powerful that even her closest friends avoid her touch, she's seeing strange threads of light everywhere, and her parents are still nowhere to be found. Having been banned from returning to the surface for the time being, she anxiously awaits word from the search party that went looking for her parents and the other missing Vins. During what was supposed to be a joyous occasion, an evil entity strikes, creating chaos in the underground settlement, and Wren is captured by the Wrathful, along with Eyota. In order to escape the mayhem and rescue their friends, Maria, Rusty, and Pan must journey up top, find allies, and fight the enemy. Along the way, Maria finds answers to her never-ending questions and discovers fate is far more powerful than she realized.… (meer)

I was very impressed with this book and its predecessor, "[book:Compass to Vinland|59207834]." This is a fun middle-grade Viking-legend-inspired fantasy that is nonstop adventure. The characters are well-written, and the magic system is intriguing. The world-building is also a delight for readers to stroll through and experience. Each book focuses on one of our three main characters, and this one follows our Cerebral, Maria, as she learns and develops her powers. This is a very creative and unique series, and I look forward to book 3. A few notes. The references to Frankenstein should be to Frankenstein's monster. Perhaps 14 year olds could make this error, but if that's the case, someone should correct them later in the narrative. I am also not a fan of insta-learning. The shoes the kids are wearing provide them with instant and advanced abilities. I enjoyed how there was some learning and growing in this book for Maria, but Rusty basically put on the shoes (book 1) and became the most powerful warrior within a few pages. I hope book three offers more growth for Rusty as his POV is next. Overall, this is a page-turning fantasy series that I really enjoyed exploring. I hope its a book more young readers pick up. ( )

Can we talk about how AMAZING this series is?! It had EVERYTHING i was expecting for a Middle Grade Fantasy Series AND MORE!!

Thank you to Librarything for picking me to win this FREE COPY in an Early Reviewers Giveaway last year. This one reminded me alot of Alice falling down the Rabbit Hole in Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz and The Nutcracker and The Four Realms.

Even tho this is only the 2nd Novel ive read by Dani let alone in a series but i have to say she is DEFINATELY MY NEW FAVORITE FANTASY AUTHOR, No Question about it.

The Characters were so fun and enjoyable to read about. Maria and Wren are still my favorites. I loved learning about Maria life and background alot more in this book compared to Book 1.

The Setting was beautifully described which made me feel like i was actually in Pennslvania and Vinland while reading especially when the scenery was described.

Overall a WONDERFULLY Written Book 2 in this Middle Grade Fantasy Series!! I really hope there is a Book 3 because im anxious to learn more about Pan and Tara if there is one.

Can't wait to read more by Dani in the future!! ( )

As a passionate fan of the Magic Shoe series, I couldn't have been more thrilled with "Clarity of Sight," the second installment that effortlessly surpassed the already high expectations set by its predecessor. This book takes the series to new heights, earning a solid 5 out of 5 in my book.

Unlike the first installment, which expertly laid the foundation for the magical world, "Clarity of Sight" propels readers straight into a whirlwind of action. The pace is exhilarating, and the narrative seamlessly picks up where the first book left off. The author doesn't waste any time, plunging us into the heart of Maria’s journey.

One of the most delightful aspects of this sequel is the shift in perspective. Seeing the magical realm through Maria's eyes adds a layer of depth to the story. In the first book, I wasn’t too much of a fan of Maria. However, in this one her character comes alive with a perfect blend of vulnerability and strength, making her an even more relatable and compelling protagonist.

The author skillfully weaves together elements of adventure, friendship, heartbreak, love, and family, creating a rich tapestry of emotions that kept me hooked from start to finish.

Dani Resh navigates the complexities of human experience with finesse. The relationships between characters are nuanced and authentic, adding a layer of realism to the fantastical setting.

Clarity of Sight is not just a one-time read; it's a book that lingers in your thoughts, urging you to revisit its pages! I found myself captivated by the characters and the world they inhabit, and I have no doubt that this is a story I'll return to again. I cannot wait for book 3! ( )

Clarity Of Sight is book 2 in the Magic Shoe Trilogy. Clarity of Sight is Maria’s story. Book2 goes along where Compass To Vinland. Left off. Maria is a cerebral and is learning how to use her gift. Rusty and Wren are back to find answers. Maria’s parents are still missing and Tristan (Wren’s uncle) is still looking for his wife. I really enjoyed the book with the action and D&D like story. The writing was just enough of each character and very descriptive. The characters didn’t fail to shine all three equally. This book would be great for those interested in fantasy & D&D. I think it would be a great book for young teens to the elderly. I can’t wait to read the last book Cunning Warrior. ( )
