I really l liked the 1st book in this series ("Another Fine Myth") but they get worse as they go along. This one was still OK ( )

Funny book in the Myth series, this one's a take on sports as Aahz, Skeeve and some of their friends from the first two books take on the cities of Ta-Hoe and Veygus to rescue Tananda. Along the way we meet trolls and trollops and a pervert or prevect. First published in 1982 some of the quotes used as chapter headers may be lost on younger readers, from semi famous people of the day like Doug Hemming, Howard Cosell, but there still entertaining puns.

I miss Bob Asprin he died much too young, if you enjoy a silly fantasy now and again this may be just the book for you.

I have always enjoyed fantasy novels and I have a fond place in my heart for campy pun filled fantasy and Robert Asprin definitely writes books that fit the bill. His books remain good although they do not quite stand up to the test of time. ( )

Asprin is in that mid-point of exploring the relationships and personalities of his cast of characters without yet having them become "stock" to populate his series.
Note: the dates are from most recent re-reading before passing on the books to grandchildren. The long pause in reading is because I am using the book as a time-filler, having read it multiple times before. ( )
