Romance If this book were not written in 1983, I would say that Taylor Reynolds would most certainly have been prosecuted for sexual harassment or hostile work environment. This was, basically, the same story as [b:Untamed|2866718|Untamed (House of Night, #4)|P.C. Cast|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1317792531s/2866718.jpg|2892871], also by [a:Nora Roberts|625|Nora Roberts|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1265820113p2/625.jpg] in a Vermont setting. It was an entertaining quick read when I didn't have a lot of brainpower, though a bit formulaic. This book was written in 1983, though recorded for audio listening in 2009. Now I know why, as a young person in the early 1980's, there existed an obsession to be simultaneously "taken seriously" by men and wanting to be "dominated" by them. So naive on both accounts when looking backwards. THANKfully, I have extricated myself from such notions. Having said that, this book serves as a great reminder as to how so many of us out there achieved in one arena, only to suffer in the other. I wanted to turn off this book many times, but I needed something in the background to listen to while doing work on my P.C. It truly is painful to listen to such malarkey. Don't blame Ms. Roberts for having written this almost 30 yrs ago - blame publishers for thinking an '80's book can still strike a cord in 2012. It was a sign of the times, and really should not be revived. NOTE: The star is for the reader whose performance was as multi-faceted as the material could lend her. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
