Explains the celebration of Easter by telling the story of Jesus' life, Resurrection, and love for us all. I bought this book for my baby's first Easter. Unlike other Easter stories that focus on bunnies, chocolate, and eggs, The Easter Story gives a brief summary of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection in a way that young children can understand. It is biblically accurate, albeit simple. For instance, it skips any details about how Jesus died and doesn't mention sin. That said, it is a great accompaniment to the Gospels surrounding Holy Week. Recommended age: 3-5 years Writing style: Simple sentences under the illustrations. Parents will need to read it to their children. Lexile range (unofficial): 410L - 600L Decoding difficulty: 4/5 Vocabulary difficulty: 4/5 Sentences difficulty: 4/5 Patterns difficulty: 4/5 Illustration style: Colorful images using realistic faces and poses. They appear to be watercolors and have lots of detail. For instance, the Palm Sunday page shows young children greeting Jesus and others bowing. Reality-based? This is the biblical story of Easter. Easter: The True Story! This is the story of Jesus, Palm Sunday and Easter. We learn that Jesus loved all of us very much--both little children and adults alike. He made a big sacrifice for us, gave every one a great gift, and now we can live forever because of Him. Starting with the palms that were laid down for Jesus, to His death, everything is put in terms two-to-five-year-olds are comfortable with, and can understand. Easter is a joyful time! Some of the ways we celebrate today includes going to church, sharing His love, and spending time with each other. This board book contains lots of bright colors and illustrations that make the story come alive, and will capture the attention of small children. The true meaning of Easter is presented in this great five-star book. WorthyKids has provided Tickmenot with a complimentary copy of, The Story of Easter, for the purpose of review. I liked this book for a few different reasons. The first reason I like this book is because of how the author chose how to write the text. She made the font different colors for the key/important terms. For example, she used colors such as blue and pink for words such as, "Jesus", "Easter" and "Spring". I thought this was a good idea because it showed the reader that these words are important to the text in some way. The second reason why I liked this book was because of the language that is used in this book. This book is written for much younger children and the author made sure to keep that in mind when writing this. The words are all easy to understand and the text is not too lengthy. For example, "Jesus loved all boys and girls, and moms and dads too." This is a simple sentence that a child could clearly understand the meaning of. The main idea of this book is to inform a child of the meaning of Easter from a religious perspective. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
