But I really liked the couple and rooted for them. ( ) "4 out of 5 stars. Very cute, quite funny, and I loved Riley and Gracie! I breezed through..." Gracie’s mother sends her away to live with her aunt and uncle, because her mother is embarrassed by Gracie's stalker behavior towards Riley and how much attention it’s been getting. Gracie returns to her hometown some odd amount of years later after receiving therapy and becoming a well known wedding cake decorator. She’s there to help out with her sisters wedding and finds herself only being accepted by her sisters and mother when they want something from her. One of her sisters gets Gracie to help her spy on her husband who she thinks might be cheating. Unfortunately, the husband works for Riley and of course Gracie is caught by Riley snooping around outside his house with a big ass camera. I liked all the odd situations Gracie got herself into in the book. Anyway, I had a lot of trouble with some of the aspects of the plot of this book and how some conflicts were resolved. I wanted to see the sisters and the mother do a little more repenting for the way they treated Gracie, but that never came about. The mother just apologized one day and that was the end of the battle between the two. After Gracie’s mother had sent her away for so long, because she was embarrassed of her daughter, and after all the things she had been saying to Gracie, I wanted something more of a confrontation between her and the mother. I also didn’t like that there was never a confrontation between the sisters and Gracie. They treated her like an outsider for most of the book and said some hurtful things but nothing ever came of it. They just started changing for the good toward the end of the book. I would’ve liked to have seen why Gracie clung to Riley so much at the age of 14 explored more than just the quick reason that was tossed out to us. I think it would’ve made the relationship between Riley and Gracie that developed a bit more believable.
4 out of 5 stars. Very cute, quite funny, and I loved Riley and Gracie! I breezed through this book not wanting to put it down until the end! I will admit that the ending was kind of corny but that still didn't ruin the book for me. =0) Heeft de bewerking

And how can she, when she's face-to-face with Riley at every turn? The onetime bad boy has come back to town seeking respectability--but the sparks that fly between them are anything but respectable! Gracie's determined to keep her distance, but when someone sets out to ruin both their reputations, the two discover that first love is sometimes better the second time around. .Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
